Hello! My name is Karina Marques de Sousa de Nooijer and I am a real carioca (I was born in Rio). While growing up in Santa Teresa, a beautiful, interesting and artistic neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro with many foreigners, I already had the possibility to practice my English throughout my childhood. Later on, I became a teacher for children who I tought how to read and write in Portuguese for 6 years. In 2000, I married and moved with my husband to Europe where I started to give Portuguese classes for foreigners. Next to giving classes, I studied and improved my English in the Netherlands until returning to Brazil in 2004. Since then, I additionally give English classes for Brazilians and Portuguese classes for foreigners. In total I've collected my Portuguese teaching experiences in the last 15 years.
